Pre Treatment Advice
BOTOX
To Help Prevent Bruising:
AVOID: Blood thinning over-the-counter medication such as Aspirin and Ibuprofen. Also avoid herbal supplements, such as Garlic, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, and Omega-3 capsules.
Do not drink alcoholic beverages 24 hours before (or after) your treatment to avoid extra bruising.
Do not use Botulinum Toxin if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to any of its ingredients, or suffer from any neurological disorders. Please inform your provider if you have any questions about this prior to the treatment.
Ensure there is a 12 week minimum between toxin treatments, or I will be unable to treat and cancellation charges will apply.
You MUST have had a face-to-face consultation before first treatments.
SKIN BOOSTERS
Discontinue blood-thinning medication for 7 days prior to treatment as they may increase your risk of bruising. This includes; aspirin and ibuprofen (if any medication has been prescribed, check with your doctor first before stopping).
Also avoid herbal supplements such as garlic, vitamin E, ginko biloba, St. John’s Wort and omega-3 capsules.
Do not drink alcohol 24 hours before (and after) the procedure.
Arnica tablets can be taken to reduce the risk of bruising (start taking 2-3 days before appointment).
Ensure you have had something substantial to eat before your appointment to decrease the chances of lightheadedness during your treatment.
PEELS/micro needling
Discontinue use of tanning beds at least two weeks prior to a chemical peel. In fact, we advise that you stop using tanning beds altogether because they increase your risk of skin cancer and accelerate visible signs of aging.
Avoid extensive sun exposure, especially in the 10 days prior to your scheduled chemical peel.
No facial waxing for 7 days prior to treatment.
For those of you who are on an acne treatment regimen, you need to stop the use of stop the use of Renova, Differin, Tazorac, Avage, EpiDuo or Ziana five days prior to treatment.
If you are using Retinol products, stop the use of Retin-A (retinol) products or applications for 5-7 days prior to a chemical peel. High percentage alpha hydroxy (AHA) and beta hydroxy (BHA) products should be stopped five days before treatment.
Always apply a broad spectrum sunscreen daily (at least SPF 30 or higher) and avoid the gym 24 hours prior to a chemical peel.
Do not use aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (ex. Advil) for 2-3 days before treatment.
